SKIN CANCER TREATMENT/RECONSTRUCTION
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer and in many cases,
a careful excision can be a cure. Sometimes, other treatments are
also required. Once adequate removal
of the cancer has been achieved, reconstructive procedures are sometimes needed.
The area is reconstructed either by simply suturing the skin, or performing grafts,
rotation flaps, or other maneuvers. The patient usually goes home on the same
day, with wound care and activity limitation. Smaller skin cancers are removed
under local anesthetic, and there is little to no recovery or time off of work.
We can help you determine the best next steps for your skin cancer treatment
and reconstruction. Please give us a call and schedule an examination and consultation.
If you are considering any reconstructive
surgery, please schedule an examination and consultation with us.
We'll discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure with you, and
help you determine the best next steps.
