EAR RECONSTRUCTION
Misshapen or absent ears can be reconstructed using a variety of
techniques, including grafts of cartilage or skin in combination
with local tissues. This
is frequently a multi-staged process with 3-4 separate surgeries. The patients
usually go home the same day after each surgery, however there are activity limitations
in place for several weeks. Careful wound and dressing care is required to maintain
the results of the procedure. Ear reconstruction in children is usually begun
at about age five.
Please call us, we'll discuss the surgery with you in more detail and help you
