NOSE SURGERY(Rhinoplasty)
Procedure Description
Rhinoplasty improves the appearance of the nose by removing prominent areas or
building up areas that are too small. This usually involves adjusting the bone
and cartilage of the nose, and rarely the skin. Adjustments can sometimes be
made for shape abnormalities resulting from injuries, like a broken nose. Breathing
obstructions caused by a deviated septum can be corrected during this procedure
as well.
Surgery and Recovery
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia or sedation, and patients
go home the same day. It takes 7-14 days for bruising and most of the swelling
to subside, but frequently it takes 6-12 months for the nasal shape to mature
completely. Scars are usually placed inside the nose, however in some cases small
scars are placed under the nose or at the base of the nostrils.
Please schedule a complimentary consultation and examination so we can discuss the risks
and benefits of this procedure and determine if an rhinoplasty is right for you.
Please note, any patient
considering cosmetic plastic surgery procedures should be in overall
good health and currently a non-smoker.
